It has been three years since we first saw your picture, but…
…two years ago today, you permanently joined our family.
You’ve kept us on our toes every moment since.
But you’ve also been the biggest blessing that has ever happened to us.
You’ve taught us patience, perseverance, and love.
You’ve shown us what it’s like to live differently, but still live.
You’ve shared your hurts and your celebrations with us.
You’ve taught us to laugh.
You’ve shown us how love can heal.
You’ve reminded us that forgiveness should abound.
You’ve stretched us and exhausted us and pushed us to our limits.
You’ve hugged us and kissed us and asked us to hold you.
Most importantly though, you’ve helped us grow closer to God.
If it were not for you, we wouldn’t have such a clear understanding of God’s adoptive plan for our lives.
Nasko Malcolm Newingham, we’re so thankful that you are our son.
Psalm 68:5-6 – Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families…
Praise be to the God of the orphans who placed this lonely boy into our family two years ago.
(Stay tuned as tomorrow is Adoption Day Observed in our family. We’re giving Nasko full control over all activity planning. Last I heard, the day involves waking up early, eating donuts, going to Scheels, and visiting the mall. Should be a crazy day with our crazy boy!)
