Exhaustion is setting in.

Then I remembered it was only day two of VBS.

This is probably bad news…

We did sleep in a little today and met up with our group around 11:00 a.m.  At that time, we decided to visit the CN Tower here in Toronto.  We piled into the car and drove downtown.  We quickly found a parking lot and unloaded.

While standing in the parking lot, looking like the epitome of tourists, a man on a bicycle stopped to ask where we were headed.  We pointed to the (giant) tower, but then mentioned needing lunch first.  He directed us to King Street where there are lots of outdoor cafés.

He was a godsend.

We found an authentic French restaurant where we enjoyed foods such as omelets, salmon on a croissant, escargot, and (me) a grilled-vegetable salad with goat cheese.

YUM!

After lunch, we walked to the CN tower.  Until the Buri Khalifa was built in Dubai, the CN tower in Toronto was the tallest structure in the world.  It is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

(from wikipedia.com)

I’ve now been to four of the seven wonders:  Channel, CN Tower, Empire State Building, and the Panama Canal!

This afternoon, we bought tickets to go to the top.  As we climbed onto the elevator, I confessed my fear of heights to the group!  Yikes!

The view from the top really was neat.  Never mind the fact that I had to hold Chance’s arm in order to get near the windows!

When we got to the top, we realized something pretty cool – we could see my minivan!  It looked like it was a matchbox car from where we were standing, but we were able to pick it out of the parking lot:

At the top, there was also an area with a glass floor.  It was not my favorite part of the whole experience…

Following our trip up, up, up, we went down, down, down!  We spent some time wandering around near the CN Tower and then headed to Wal-mart.  Everyone bought snacks or some necessary supplies.  We ate supper at the McDonalds inside Wal-mart because it would soon be time for VBS to begin!

Tonight we had a few new children attend VBS.  EVERYONE seems to be having a great time.  The parents just light-up when they see what their kids are learning and the things the kids are doing.

Here are some of the things we did tonight:

Singing with Sharon and Maria VictoriaBuilding an alter with Grant and learning about Elijah

Making crafts

And, the video I’ll leave you with – Chance torturing some ornery 5th-6th graders
